Christmas is coming .........
Mill House Kitchen Traditional Christmas Puddings have been made for a few weeks now and have been quietly maturing in Cider, Beer and Rum (!). Delicious fruity puddings in 2lb, 1lb and individual sizes.
Also available, just for Christmas, Tiffin with hazelnuts, gingerbread houses (flatpack for you to build yourself), Buche de Noel or Yule Log - which ever your prefer and delicious handmade rum truffles.
Wow! As you can see two 'Firsts' one for chutney and the other for lemon curd - and a cup The Perputual Cup for Preserving. What a busy summer, just so much to do... and now it's October and all the preserving swings into action, with all the chutneys and jellys to make. We have added a Roasted Pepper and Tomato Chutney to the range, unusual and sweet chutney which is really good with soft cheeses.
New for the summer, Sea Salt Caramel Fudge, and it's selling really well. The unusual combination of sweet and savoury wins again; make sure you pick up your bag to try for yourself. Another quick seller at the moment is the Dorset Apple Cakes, baked fresh for the weekends, delicious, moist apple cake, try warmed with cream or creme faiche........
Bronze again this year for Mill House Seville Orange Marmalade, well done. This is a huge national event and so very pleased to achieved Bronze this year, the judge commented on the 'good flavour' and well presented jar. Will have to 'try harder' for a coveted gold!!
February is coming to the end of the Marmalade season, when the seville oranges are just coming to the end. Marmalade has been in full production since January and we have been trying out a new taste by adding coriander seeds; interesting, slightly 'hot' after taste.... we've sent a jar to the National Marmalade Awards, so we will see.....
